Adoption is a deeply personal and often complex journey for many employees, and organizations play a critical role in supporting their workforce throughout the process. Over the years, more and more companies have joined in supporting prospective adoptive families by offering benefits like reimbursement and paid time off.  These benefits are not just about helping employees–they are a reflection of a company’s commitment to meeting the diverse needs of its workforce. Workforces like families are evolving!  There are more paths to building a family than ever before, and for many, adoption is a powerful and meaningful journey.

At Vesta for Families, we partner with organizations to bring innovative, supportive benefits that empower employees every step of the way. Our expert coaches provide personalized guidance throughout the adoption process, connecting employees with a curated network of resources, budgeting tools, and expert financial assistance—including grants, loans, and tax benefits—to make the dream of building a family a reality.

Take Action

Vesta for Families encourages companies to champion National Adoption Day and raise awareness for adoption and foster care among their employees.  Here are just some of the ways you and your company can connect and make a meaningful difference on National Adoption Day:

  1. Create/Host an event on or around National Adoption Day.  Publicize your event through the National Adoption Day website.
  2. Event Idea: Promote and sponsor a Pack a Care Kit with the Dave Thomas Foundation.  Purchase care kits from the Foundation and fill them with travel size necessities.  Foster kids often don’t have supplies or hygiene items moving from home to home.  It’s a great team building project and helps those in need.
  3. Sponsor an Adoption Webinar for your employees!  Many employees in the workforce are curious about adoption and foster care, and want to build their families in this way. Contact a coach at Vesta for more information:  [email protected]
  4. Offer an adoption benefit – time off, reimbursement or both!  VESTA for Families can help you create and manage such a benefit.
  5. Do one of the five things shared by the Families Rising organization on how to advocate for children in foster care and adoption.
  6. Become a foster parent in your area, requires homestudy and training.
  7. Spotlight an Adoption Charity – Donate, Advocate, Volunteer
